The Delamar Hotel

As I’m writing on this Friday afternoon – or rather taking notes, I can’t wait to share what experiences I’ll have as I’m currently in a SUV traveling to Greenwich, Connecticut with my best friend Anna Tai. This weekend will be one of leisure thanks to Vilebrequin and their partnership with The Delamar Hotel. It’s been over two long hours in the SUV because of NYC traffic. If you couple that with it being the weekend, then you already know that everyone is trying to leave the city and enjoy this beautiful weather by the beach or in the woods.

(Time passes by)…

Finally we are at the hotel and it’s time to check in. However, I’m barely paying attention to concierge because of how beautiful the hotel is. The hotel’s design is inspired by the luxury hotels on the coasts of Italy or that’s what I like to think. As we finish checking in we rush to get to our room to change outfits as a boat is waiting for us to cruise around the Greenwich shoreline. As we walk outside we start seeing the rest of the crew all dress up in Vilebrequin. We are all excited to go in the boat and soak up the sun while sipping bubbly rosé. Nothing sounds better than that, right?.

An hour later we are back to the hotel where we are instructed to head to L’Escale (a stylish restaurant that captures the essence of Southern France). While waiting for dinner we are seated by the waterfront outdoor bar. It’s perfect because we get to enjoy the warm weather with a good glass of L’Escale’s very own rosé. There we are able to catch up with everyone, including the PR crew who made all the experience possible. It’s so relaxing. They made us feel at home while the fancy townies stare at us wondering why we’d had half of the place for ourselves. We didn’t care we kept sipping and laughing. Finally it is time for dinner and to go inside. We were not ready to be transported to the Côte d’Azur with the highest quality seafood, seasonal veggies, regional herbs and spices. Chef Frederic Kiefer  is a wizard in the kitchen. As they bring out the appetizers I start digging the Crab Cakes: a la Plancha, and Seared Octopus “Escabeche” which are so bomb!! That’s coming from someone who doesn’t eat much seafood. Almost an hour later our entrées arrive. I ordered the Homemade Ricotta Gnocchi. I have no words to describe how delicious it is. It’s like an orgasm in your mouth. For dessert the chef brings the Classic Vanilla Créme Brulée, which again I can’t find the right word to describe it because it’s just so good!  Everything is to die for, after the feast we are going back to our room where a bottle of chill Prosecco courtesy of The Delamar was waiting for us. This is truly the luxury living.

Around 9 P.M. we met up with the crew again to go explore the heart of Greenwich. Sophie the owner of the PR agency is going to be our tourist guide for the night. After a long walk we ended at this restaurant called Spread. Apparently this is where a lot townies like to go during the weekend because after 11 P.M. the restaurant turns into a night club. They remove all the tables to create an open space to dance. Did I forget to mention alcohol? It’s flowing all around. People are feeling themselves and mostly having a blast. It makes your heart feel warm and makes you questions whether or not this is real life and makes you feel blessed that you get to live a life like this. Finally after 1 A.M or so I like to think, we call a Tesla from the hotel to take us back. This is another perk of staying at The Delamar. They really value the customer and the customer service is one of the best I have ever experienced in my life. That means a lot because I’ve stayed at so many places that made me feel like home. This place is a place where I want to keep coming back to over and over again. The place, the people, the food, and the drinks are perfect. If you’re that kind of person who is always looking for something new and enjoys luxury then The Delamar should be next on your list to visit.

The next morning Anna wakes up super early to go to the gym to kick some ass while I rested. By 7:30 A.M. I was up and ready for food and slightly hangover but craving for more things to do. We go down to the restaurant for their continental style breakfast and of course coffee… that was the only I cared about. After our meal it was time to head to the spa to be pampered by the best therapists in town. I’m getting a deep cleansing facial and a full body massage. After all that they left me ready to go back to bed and take a good nap. By 12 P.M. we packed our things to head back to our busy lives in the city.

I want to thank Vilebrequin and The Delamar Hotel for making this experience an extraordinary one. Always a pleasure to join you guys in everything you do.

Always remember: “Dare yourself to try something new and live your life.”

Until Next time!
Ciao, Martin!

Ps. I’m sorry for my lack of content. This trip was pure pleasure and I wanted to enjoy every single second of it.
