NYFWM AW '18
Welcome back to another blog post from me. This time i’m going to give you my recap of New York Fashion Week Mens.
As many of you know fashion week is an amazing experience, but for some that don’t know… it is also very tiring. This season especially for me it was. I tried not to attend every single show I get invited to. I decided to attend just my favorite designer’s shows and see what’s new for the next season. I also got to catch up with my friends from L.A. and Europe.
And guess what? After this year’s NYFWM I’ve made my mind up that I won’t be doing fashion week in the Summer unless I get to work with one of my favorite brands for their shows. This experience can be really tiring, you spend a lot of money on clothes, car rides, and etc. And at some point you get exhausted where you don’t enjoy any of the shows or after-parties.
Let’s get on to my recap:
Let’s get into DAY ONE or what they call New York Men’s Day. On this day most of the shows happen in one location: “Creative Studios” is Downtown. This season twelve designers showed simultaneous presentations across two time-slots. This year we got to see presentations from David Hart, Descendant of Thieves (one of my favorite presentations),and Krammer & Stoudt just to name a few. I ended my Day One by attending the Todd Snyder Runway Show and I must say the collection was my favorite one from all of their seasons. I also got to team up with Cooper and Thief to attend Todd’s after party hosted by them. There we enjoyed delightful cocktails with the wine being the main focus. The night was full of smiles, hugs, and talking to friends I haven’t seen in a while. And for the first day I got the amazing opportunity to wear a custom made windowpane double-breasted suit by Institchu.

On the DAY TWO because I decided to start my day late I only attended two shows: Joseph Abboud and Perry Ellis which I always get excited to see because I’m a big fan of them. Unfortunately I had to miss the Tom Ford Show but we ended the night at Original Penguin After Party at Pianos in LES. Where there was a performance by AJR while we enjoyed good cocktails and street-style inspired small bites. All the while I wore a full look sponsored by ASOS.

For DAY THREE I cancelled all my shows and appointments because it rained all day long and it was the perfect excuse to stay in and rest. But at night I went to French Connection’s first ever runway show where I saw their new collection while enjoying a good glass of Vueve Clicquot. We all got to take home custom made necklaces and a goodie bag. For this day I wore a look from Selected Homme.
Hope you guys enjoy this. Let me know your thoughts in comment section below.
Much Love, Martin.
